The Yellow Butterfly Homes Entrepreneurship Program
Program Mission: To empower residents with the faith, skills, and resources to achieve personal and financial independence by launching their own sustainable ventures, creating a thriving, self-sufficient community.
The Home Team Venture: Our Foundation
"Butterfly Clean Co." - A residential and commercial cleaning service.
How it Works: The House Leaders manage the business, securing clients and overseeing operations. All residents are trained and work scheduled hours as part of the cleaning crew.
Purpose:
Immediate Income: Provides a stable, predictable paycheck for residents from day one.
Skill Development: Serves as a real-world classroom for professionalism, teamwork, customer service, and quality control.
Home Sustainability: A significant portion of the business's revenue directly funds the home's operational costs, creating a foundational layer of self-sustainability.
Phase 1: The Cocoon (Foundation & Teamwork)
(Duration: 2-3 Months)
This phase focuses on personal growth and professional development through active participation in the Home Team Venture.
Faith & Identity Workshops: Daily devotionals and weekly sessions focused on purpose, stewardship, and a theology of work.
Workforce Training: Residents work scheduled shifts for the Home Team Venture. This hands-on experience replaces theoretical lessons with real-world application.
Financial Literacy: Residents use their actual paychecks from the Home Team Venture to learn budgeting, saving, and debt management.
Passion & Skills Assessment: While working on the team, residents meet with mentors to identify their unique talents and brainstorm individual business ideas for the next phase.
Phase 2: Metamorphosis (Incubation & Business Planning)
(Duration: 2-3 Months)
Residents continue to work for the Home Team Venture but begin dedicating time to transforming their individual passions into a viable business concept.
"Dream Big" Idea Lab: Collaborative sessions to develop individual business ideas, using the skills learned from the Home Team Venture as a launchpad.
Business Plan Bootcamp: A guided course to create a simple, effective business plan. Residents have a practical understanding of business operations from their team experience.
Mentorship Matching: Each resident is paired with a mentor from the local business community to guide their individual business planning.
Phase 3: Taking Flight (Individual Launch & Operation)
(Duration: 3-6 Months)
Residents begin to transition their hours from the Home Team Venture to their own individual businesses as they become operational. 🦋
Seed Fund Pitch Night: Residents present their business plans to a panel. Successful pitches are awarded a micro-loan or grant from the "Butterfly Fund" for startup costs.
Resource Hub: Residents gain access to shared resources like laptops and workspace to launch their ventures.
Gradual Transition: As their own business begins to generate income, a resident's required hours for the Home Team Venture are reduced, allowing them to focus on their personal enterprise.
Phase 4: The Garden (Sustainability & Leadership)
(Ongoing)
Successful individual businesses and the Home Team Venture work in tandem to create a fully self-sustaining ecosystem.
Dual-Income Sustainability: The home is now funded by two streams: the consistent revenue from the Home Team Venture and the "Sustainable Tithe" (a percentage of revenue) from the newly launched individual businesses.
Leadership Pipeline: Residents who have launched their own businesses can now take on leadership roles within the Home Team Venture, training new residents and managing client relations.
Community Impact: The home becomes a hub of entrepreneurial activity, known for its reliable Home Team Venture and the diverse, innovative businesses launched by its graduates.
Before the roommates can graduate from the independent living program, they are all part of the Home Team Venture, which raises funds through creative activities such as jewelry making or starting a small business. This is an in-house, service-based business owned and operated by the residents of the home, where they learn to budget, pay bills, and become independent.
Program Mission
To empower residents with the faith, skills, and resources to achieve personal and financial independence by launching in-home sustainable ventures, creating a thriving, self-sufficient community.

Monarch Safehaven Homes: Program Model
Monarch Safehaven Homes is a comprehensive, faith-based residential program offering a sanctuary for healing and hope. We welcome minor girls who have endured unimaginable hardships, including survivors of Commercial Sexual Exploitation (CSEC), physical and emotional abuse, and other profound trauma. Our home is also a place of refuge for children of addiction, who have been impacted by familial substance abuse, and for refugee girls seeking safety, stability, and a new beginning.
Our mission is to provide a loving and nurturing environment where these resilient young women can experience profound healing—spiritually, emotionally, physically, and mentally—and be empowered to transform their lives, just as a caterpillar transforms into a monarch butterfly. 🦋
Program Philosophy and Faith Foundation
The core of Monarch Safehaven Homes is rooted in the redemptive love of Jesus Christ. Our philosophy is guided by grace, hope, and transformation. Whether a young woman is fleeing exploitation, the chaos of addiction, the pain of abuse, or the uncertainty of being a refugee in a new land, our foundation remains the same: to show her the unconditional love of a Heavenly Father who sees her, values her, and has a plan for her life.
Core Scripture: "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" - 2 Corinthians 5:17
Guiding Principles:
Unconditional Love: Every resident is treated with the unconditional love and acceptance shown by Christ.
Grace-Based Approach: We operate from a non-judgmental stance, understanding that healing is a unique journey for each girl.
Hope and a Future: We instill the belief that God has a plan and a purpose for each young woman, as promised in Jeremiah 29:11.
Trauma-Informed Care Program
Our entire program is filtered through a trauma-informed and faith-integrated lens. We recognize that profound trauma is the common thread that connects the experiences of our residents—whether from CSEC, physical or emotional abuse, the instability caused by parental addiction, or the harrowing journey of a refugee. Our goal is to create an environment where girls feel safe, seen, and supported.
Physical & Emotional Safety: The home provides a secure, predictable, and comforting physical environment. Staff are trained in de-escalation, cultural sensitivity, and emotional regulation to create a stable and non-threatening atmosphere for all residents.
Trustworthiness & Transparency: Staff build trust through consistency, honesty, and appropriate boundaries. All program decisions are communicated clearly and respectfully.
Choice & Collaboration: Residents are active participants in their healing journey. They are given choices in daily routines, therapy goals, and activities, empowering them to reclaim their voice and agency.
Empowerment: We focus on building skills and recognizing the strengths each girl already possesses, encouraging her to see herself as God sees her: strong, resilient, and capable.
Therapeutic Services
Our therapeutic services are tailored to address the complex and varied histories of our residents. The therapeutic plan for a survivor of abuse may differ from that of a refugee child processing displacement, or a child of addiction learning to cope with familial patterns. Our goal is to meet each girl exactly where she is through evidence-based practices integrated with Christian counseling principles.
Individualized Therapies
Each resident is assigned a licensed Christian therapist and receives a minimum of two individual sessions per week. Therapeutic modalities include:
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
Expressive Arts Therapy (art, music, dance)
Equine-Assisted Therapy
Group Therapies
Group sessions provide a community of support where girls realize they are not alone. Groups include:
"Identity in Christ" Group: Helping girls separate their past experiences from their true worth as children of God.
"Healthy Relationships" Group: Teaching boundaries, respect, and communication from a Christian viewpoint.
"Overcomers" Process Group: A safe space for residents to share their struggles and victories.
Cultural Adjustment & Identity Group: Specifically designed to support refugee and immigrant youth in navigating their new environment while honoring their cultural heritage. Description text goes here

Blue Butterfly Homes: A Program for Rescue and Restoration
Blue Butterfly Homes is a comprehensive, faith-based residential program providing a structured sanctuary for healing and purpose. We are dedicated to serving boys and young men who have endured profound hardship, including survivors of Commercial Sexual Exploitation (CSEC), physical and emotional abuse, and other significant trauma. Our home is also a place of refuge for the children of addiction and for refugee boys seeking safety, mentorship, and a new beginning.
Our mission is to provide a stable, Christ-centered environment where these young men can experience holistic healing and discover their God-given identity and strength. We are inspired by the Blue Morpho butterfly, a symbol of change and resilience, believing that every young man can undergo a powerful transformation to live a life of honor, purpose, and freedom.
Program Philosophy and Faith Foundation
The foundation of Blue Butterfly Homes is the unwavering love and strength found in Jesus Christ. Our philosophy is built on integrity, hope, and transformation. We aim to redefine masculinity through a biblical lens, teaching young men that true strength is found in character, self-control, and a servant's heart.
Core Scriptures:
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" - 2 Corinthians 5:17
"Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love." - 1 Corinthians 16:13-14
Guiding Principles:
Unconditional Respect: Every resident is treated with dignity and respect, reflecting his inherent worth as a child of God.
Grace & Accountability: We operate with grace, understanding that growth involves setbacks. This is balanced with clear expectations and accountability to build character and responsibility.
Purpose and a Future: We instill the belief that God has a unique and powerful plan for each young man, as promised in Jeremiah 29:11.
Trauma-Informed Care Program
Our entire program is filtered through a trauma-informed and faith-integrated lens. We recognize that profound trauma is the common thread that connects the experiences of our residents—whether from CSEC, physical or emotional abuse, the instability of parental addiction, or the harrowing journey of a refugee. Our goal is to create an environment of stability where boys feel safe enough to heal.
Physical & Emotional Safety: The home provides a secure, structured, and predictable environment. Staff are trained in de-escalation, emotional regulation, and mentoring techniques to create a stable atmosphere where young men can thrive.
Trustworthiness & Mentorship: Staff, particularly male role models, build trust through consistency, integrity, and leading by example.
Choice & Responsibility: Residents are active participants in their healing. They are given age-appropriate choices and increasing levels of responsibility to help them develop agency and self-confidence.
Empowerment: We focus on building practical skills and identifying the unique strengths of each resident. He is encouraged to see himself as God sees him: resilient, capable, and called to a purpose.
Educational & Character Development Programs
Education and character formation are key to building a self-sufficient and honorable future.
Academic Restoration:
An initial academic assessment identifies each resident's educational level and learning needs.
An Individualized Education Plan (IEP) is created for each resident, which may include on-site tutoring, credit recovery, GED preparation, or enrollment in a local partner school.
Life Skills & Integrity Development:
Practical Skills: Weekly workshops on financial literacy, cooking, basic home and auto maintenance, and personal responsibility.
Character Formation: Classes on healthy communication, anger management, conflict resolution, and leadership, all taught from a biblical perspective.
Vocational Training: For older residents, we offer career exploration, resume building, interview practice, and connections to apprenticeships or trade programs.
Therapeutic Services
Our therapeutic services are designed to heal the deep wounds of trauma by addressing the unique ways boys process pain, anger, and loss.
Individualized Therapies
Each resident is assigned a licensed Christian therapist for a minimum of two individual sessions per week.
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT): Helps residents process trauma and reframe destructive thought patterns related to identity and masculinity.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR): A specialized therapy to help the brain heal from traumatic events.
Recreation & Adventure Therapy: Utilizes physical challenges, team sports, and outdoor activities (hiking, fishing, camping) as a means to build confidence, teamwork, and healthy emotional expression.
Group Therapies
Group sessions provide a brotherhood of support where young men realize they are not alone.
"Godly Manhood & Identity" Group: A foundational group helping boys redefine masculinity based on the character of Christ, not on past experiences of abuse or exploitation.
"Healthy Relationships" Group: Teaches respect, boundaries, and honor in all relationships (family, friends, future partners).
"Brotherhood Circle" Process Group: A safe, facilitated space for residents to share their struggles and hold each other accountable in their healing journeys.
Anger Management & Self-Control Group: Provides practical tools for managing strong emotions, framed by the biblical concept of self-control as a Fruit of the Spirit.
Medical and Health Care Plans
We address the physical health of our residents with the belief that the body is a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20) and that physical discipline contributes to mental and spiritual strength.
Initial Intake Assessment: Within 72 hours of arrival, each resident receives a comprehensive medical, dental, and vision examination.
Ongoing Medical Care: We partner with community healthcare providers for consistent primary and specialist care.
Mental Health & Psychiatric Care: A consulting psychiatrist provides assessments and medication management as needed, working closely with the therapy team.
Wellness and Fitness: A nutritionist helps develop healthy meal plans. A robust fitness plan includes strength training, team sports (basketball, soccer), and outdoor activities to promote physical health and provide a positive outlet for energy. Description text goes here
